I’m from Taiwan, a wonderful place. Taipei is my hometown, where I acquired my bachelor degree in Materials Science and Engineering Department, National Taiwan University. There, I was fascinated by multidiscipline knowledge of materials world. Advised by professor Chao-sung Lin, I was working on Ni-Co magnetic nanowires in Surface Modification Lab. I built up the knowledge of nano-technology, and experienced the technique of analysis. Most importantly, research promoted my energetic self-challenging attitude, urging me to pursue more creative topics.

Joining the group in 2007, I am a first year Ph.D student in Northwestern Univeristy. I’m co-advised by Professor Dunand and Dr. Qun Shen, a scientist in Argonne National Lab (ANL). My current new thesis, “In-situ X-ray Tomography of Nanoporous Gold-Foam Formation” is intriguing in two aspects: fundamentally scientific issues of nano-porous metallic structure and imaging of nano-scale materials, done by synchrotron X-ray radiation at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Lab. I hope I can get closer to the profound secrets behind this tiny world.
