I grew up in Northern Virginia, where I was introduced to materials science through a research program at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory on Al-rich high-entropy alloys. I continued my studies at Georgia Tech with a concentration in functional materials, working on lead-halide perovskite solar cells and porous polymer filtration membranes. I also participated in Northwestern's MRSEC-REU program, using in-situ pyrometry to predict temperature gradients during laser powder bed fusion.
Now, I am pursuing my interest in structural aerospace materials with the Dunand group. My research examines the microstructure and creep resistance of compositionally graded superalloys, which varies composition space through a single part to tailor local material properties for extreme environmental challenges.
